Gallipoli Campaign February 1915 to January 1916.

Instigated by Winston Churchill, this failed campaign, fought mainly between the Australian and New Zealand (Anzac) forces who suffered heavy losses (total allied casualties 36,000 troops) against the Turkish forces defending the Dardanelle's. The reason for the campaign was to force their way through the Dardanelle's to link up with Russia.
