New Releases

Keep up to date with all the latest prints and paintings available from our shop with our new releases section.  All our newly published military art, aviation art and naval art will be available from this page, as well as all the new prints from our other sources.

Artist Directory

Our artist directory has almost 1,000 artists in it, showing the best artists in the fields of military art, naval art, aviation art, and other categories including sport and wildlife.  Each artist has a profile page with their entire list of prints.  If it is a particular artist you are looking for, this is the section you want to see.

Collector's Items

Our section on collector's items features those special items which will specifically appeal to collector's of aviation art, military art and naval art.  These include original pencil drawings, items featuring one off pilot signatures, acrylic paintings and remarque edition prints.  If it is something special you are looking for, try this section.

Articles

This section of our site brings you in contact with the work of our artists and some of the history behind the military art that we feature in our prints.  Here you will find interviews with artists, features on military battles, work in progress reports on new paintings and reviews from publications.

Signature Search

Signatures on art prints - particularly of pilots - are a special way of tying history into the image you see on the print.  We keep a database of all the signatures on our prints, and now have over 1500 profile pages for individuals, mostly pilots, who have signed prints.  On these pages you will find a list of all prints signed by that person, and where available a short biography and sometimes a photo or two.  We provide a search engine specifically for this database to enable our visitors to find a particular signature easily.

News Archive

We use our news service to give our visitors regular updates as to what is going on here.  Whether that means a new release, a newly found WW2 signature or a rare item becoming available, it will be featured in the places around our sites where you see the 'Latest News' box (there is one on this page, and on the front page of our shop).  We have archived all our news updates since we began this service to let our visitors catch up with all the news.

Works in Progress

We feature many artists' works in progress when they can find the time to provide us with photographs.  These range from a few photos of the painting as it was built up, to full step by step commentaries by the artists.  We know a lot of collectors like to see just how a painting was created when they buy a print.  If finding out about how the artists work is what you would like to see, then check out this section.

Also check out Ivan's own site for his WIP page.

Advanced Searches

We now offer an advanced search system for use by our visitors.  You will find the full search system available from our shop front page, and special versions in each category in the shop.  Under the Military Art tab, for example, you will find an advanced search facility that restricts the search to military subjects.  Just select the desired criteria from the drop down menus and go!  The system will return any items matching all the criteria entered.

Special Collections

We often feature special collections of prints relating to one subject, whether that is an anniversary (i.e. Falklands 25th or Trafalgar 200th in recent years) or a specific person or event.  The two below are currently our largest collections, the epic WW1 Aces series by artist Ivan Berryman and our collections of Knight's Cross signature prints.

WW1 Aces

The WW1 Aces series already has at the time of writing over 60 paintings within it.  This number is likely to double before the collection is considered 'complete'.  Artist Ivan Berryman has also provided us with several WIP articles throughout this series, including commentaries on some of the challenging aspects of painting WW1 aircraft, including the scarcity of original references for certain aircraft, and the daunting prospect of painting German 'Lozenge' camouflage.

Knight's Cross Signatures

Our collection of Knight's Cross signature pieces includes some really rare items.  We have been involved with German signatures in particular for over a decade, with artist Graeme Lothian touring Germany in the mid-1990s to meet the Knight's Cross winning pilots who signed his prints.  We also deal directly with the most reputable of German signature companies, ensuring the authenticity of the signatures we provide.  The Knight's Cross series also includes U-boat and tank commanders, the signatures of which are often incredibly hard to come by.

On the night of June 12, 1944, it was set afire by a JU88, forcing the crew to bale out. Ivan Berryman - Battle of Britain Art

Artist Ivan Berryman has been producing many pencil drawings depicting scenes from the Battle of Britain. Each of these is signed by one of the pilots who was actually present at the battle, and is often inspired by the events they took part in themselves. Special signed print editions have also been created from existing full colour print editions, with some featuring multiple pilot signatures. You can find all of Ivan's Battle of Britain artwork on his website - www.ivanberryman.com, or see a full list of pencil drawings - updated regularly, in our dedicated section of pencil drawings.

When you go to a product page for an item in our shop, click on the names of the pilots where they are linked in the text for an item to see a profile page for that pilot. Often we include photos of signing sessions along with details of their flying career, and a full list of all items signed by the pilot.

Pilot Signed Battle of Britain Prints and Original Pencil Drawings

Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain

We are busy building up a portfolio of many many original pencil drawings which depict events from the Battle of Britain, the famous air battle won by 'the Few' in the summer of 1940. The British and Commonwealth pilots defended the air above Britain and the surrounding seaways from the might of the German Luftwaffe. Greatly outnumbered, the bravery of these young pilots saved the country from invasion, and let Britain survive to go on to defeat Germany. Without that first crucial victory, the outcome of the war could have been so very different. We have been busy arranging signing sessions with the few pilots who fought in that great battle who remain with us to this day. Our newly commissioned pencil drawings are often based on the descriptions of the battle by these great men, and are authenticated by their signatures. We have also had several editions of existing prints signed in full, or have signatures added to parts of existing editions. We have also incoporated signatures of some of the German pilots who also took part in the battle, some of whom went on to become top scoring aces of the war. See our Original Pencil Drawings Section - particularly the section of artists David Pentland and Ivan Berryman. Also, see our New Signature Editions section to see all of our newly signed editions.
