He served as a Navigator in No.630 Sqn, No.189 Sqn and No.246 Sqn before volunteering for service as a Flight Engineer with No.617 Sqn.

Originally serving as a Navigator with 630, 189 and 246 Sqns, he then volunteered for 617 Sqn becoming a Flight Engineer, taking part in many operations including the viaduct bombing raids on Armsberg and Bielefeld in 1945. He died on 11th August 2014.
