Moved to No.41 Sqn then No.72 Sqn in 1937, claiming a share of two He111s in December 1939 and flying during the Dunkirk evacuation. In the Battle of Britain he shared a Heinkel He59 biplane, and claimed an Me109 on 11th October. He retired in 1961. He died in 1998. He then became an instructor, staying with the RAF until retirement in 1961. He died in 1998.
