Matt Dawson No Photo Available Matthew James Sutherland 'Daws' Dawson MBE was born in Birkenhead on 31st october 1972. One of the great English Rugby Scrum Halfs and is the most capped English Scrum Half, gaining 77 Engalnd caps and scoring a total of 101 points between 1995 and 2006. On his 50th Cap for England, they won the Grand Slam in 2003 beating Ireland. Matt Dawson was a integral part of the England side that also won the Six Nations and also the Rugby World Cup in 2003 passing to Jonny Wilkinson for the drop goal that won the World Cup. Matt Dawson also played for the British and Irish Lions between 1997 and 2001 touring three times and gaining 7 caps and scoring 10 points. Matt Dawson played for Northampton Saints from 1991 to 2004, playing 246 matches and scoring a total of 693 points, moving in 2004 to join London Wasps and playing 44 games and scoring 30 points.
